If the property owners fail to keep the property safe for visitors, it results in “premises liability.” Thus, “Slip and fall” lawsuit may be filed if a person is injured after slipping or falling on someone else’s property due to dangerous conditions, such as torn carpeting, poor lighting, wet floor, broken public sidewalks, etc. To win a lawsuit you’ll have to prove that the possessor of the property knew of the dangerous condition and didn’t take any actions to avoid possible danger.
